The official Arena Schedule of Events has been updated to the start of Modern Horizons 3 (MH3). There are a number of upcoming events being announced for the first time, but one thing worth noting is that Outlaws of Thunder Junction (OTJ) Premier Draft is scheduled to last until July 30th…which is the digital release date of Bloomburrow (BLB). WotC has already announced that MH3 will be fully draftable on Arena, so it’s possible someone just made an error when entering the end date. Having said that, they also announced that there won’t be a Mastery Pass for MH3 so it’s also possible this is tied to that in some way. I’ll try to find an answer to this and provide an update as soon as I have one.
Given that Traditional OTJ Drafts cut off on the digital release date of MH3, I think there is a chance MH3 drafts will only be offered in the traditional Bo3 format. This is pure speculation on my part at this time.
I’ll work on adding all of these to my own Event Calendar over the next few days.
Note: There are actually three separate Day 2 drafts listed here, one of them labeled “Draft One” and two labeled “Draft Two”. I assume this is just a mistake, but I thought it was worth calling out just in case.
It looks like one of these is for people who go 4-0 in Draft One, and the other is for people who go 3-1. These feed into the same pool of players, but are apparently separate events.
Note: According to the calendar there are two OTJ Premier Draft events going on at the same time for this one week period. This is also likely a mistake, however I don’t know if there’s a different Premier Draft going on in this spot or if it’s just a duplicate entry.
It’s also possible the second Premier Draft is supposed to be the Alchemy draft for OTJ.
There are no additional events past this point, however it is safe to assume the ACQ Play-In: Bo3 Explorer event will take place on June 14, and the June ACQ will take place over the following two days.
