- When the Edge of Eternities (EOE) card file went live on Friday, several people noticed some strange wording on the card Diplomatic Relations. Chord_O_Calls from Limited Level-Ups put out an excellent YouTube Short detailing exactly what was so strange about this card.
- In short, the way this card is printed allows for you to target your opponent’s creature and have it deal damage equal to its power to another creature an opponent controls, or even itself. This is a pretty large color pie break for Green, and many people assumed it was a misprint.
- In a statement issued today by Wizards of the Coast on Daily MTG, the official Oracle text of this card has been changed to “Target creature you control gets +1/+0 and gains vigilance until end of turn. It deals damage equal to its power to target creature an opponent controls.” I’ve put the additional wording in bold.
- Please note that if you’re going to a prerelease this weekend and you pull this card, the correct ruling will be this updated text and not what is currently printed on the card. Both MTGO and Arena should have the updated rules text for the digital release of EOE.
