Update 2: Dave Finseth, the Senior Digital Product Manager for Arena, DM’d me to provide an update that was also posted to the Pro Tour Discord.
“Hey all! Thanks for all the feedback on the Arena Limited Championship event. We are actively developing this program to celebrate and promote competitive limited play. The qualifier events have been more successful than we expected, which is enabling us to grow it beyond what we originally planned. We will have a larger announcement soon with all the info around the structure and prizing for the 2027 Arena Limited Championship. For now, I want to make clear that due to the success of the program we are adding an additional cash prize pool to the 2027 Arena Limited Championship event.”
Update: Karl Sarap was able to get additional confirmation on the Pro Tour Discord that this information is accurate.
According to a response from the Wizards Help Desk, the Arena Limited Championship next January will have no prizes beyond providing a way to qualify for the 2027 Magic Limited Championship.
The only other recent update to the Arena Limited Championship came in March, when we found out the tentative date for the event, the email heavily implied it would be broadcast like the Arena Championship. At that time, it was indicated that additional details on the tournament would come later in the year.
While this information does come from the Wizards help desk, and as such is an official source, it’s still possible the prize structure could change prior to January of next year.
